SERVICES
Basic Services of Staff and overhead $1,675
This is the basic charge to each family we serve for our professional
expertise in assisting them. It includes, but is not limited to, a proportionate share of the
taxes, licenses, utilities and business expenses necessary to serve the public in a
professional manner. Also included in this charge is the consultation with the family ,
clerical and administrative services, preparation and filing of necessary permits, consultation
with the mortuary, funeral home, cemetery, crematory or common carrier, planning the memorial service ,
and placement of obituary notices. There will be an additional charge for the direction
and supervision of each service requested or required. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for basic packages, direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.)

Embalming is a chemical process, which provides temporary preservation of the body.
Except in certain special cases, the law does not require embalming. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. (Meaning an alternative to a traditional casket.) Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials such as fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are cardboard.

Cash Advance Items
Cash advance items are those items (which may or may not apply to your particular situation) that are not included in any of the charges listed heretofore on the General Price List. The family and/or any other responsible parties, will be expected to pay for the Cash Advance Items in addition to any and all charges listed on the General Price List as a “cost” item or service.
Honorariums – Fees paid (if any) to minister(s) and musician(s).
Death Certificates – usually a quantity of 5 (five), which, at today’s cost, would total $35.00 ($15.00 for first copy and $5.00 for each additional copy). Any number you feel you might need is acceptable. In the interest of good communications, future copies are always obtainable in case you under-estimate at this time. The cost for additional certified copies will not be the same at that time it is now ($5.00 each), but would instead be at some higher rate per copy, to be determined at that time.
Newspaper Notices – Which would include anything outside the usual and customary obituary notice, depending on each individual newspaper’s policy in these matters. The usual and customary obituary notices are published by the newspaper at no cost.
Air or Other Long Distance Body Transportation Charges –only when applicable, and only by the amount charged to Coleman Funeral Home by the transporter and/or other involved facilities or individuals. Coleman Funeral Home does not make a profit on this line item, although we do pass on any and all actual cost(s) that we incur in Long Distance Body Transportation.
Disposition/Burial Permit – if the deceased is buried out of state and if that state requires a burial permit.
Sales Tax – only applies to monument sales. All other funeral services and related merchandise are exempt from any sales tax.
Out-of-Town Funeral Home Charges – applicable only if the funeral home, or other facility chosen by the family, charges for the use of their facility in connection with your funeral service.
